Conflicting Ideologies on our moon times
Welcome back Mary! I agree with you in that connecting with the earth energy is a great way to heal our body and connect with our true self. Recently I started taking some Afro-Brazilian dance classes. I find that connecting with the tribal energy through dance makes me feel deeply alive!

Heavyness
No one should have to worry about not being able to change pads. I suggest that if you feel that you are not allowed to go to the bathroom, your teacher would probably understand if you explained.
For heaviness, exercise and diet are extremely important. Hip and stomach exercises strengthen the pelvic muscles and increase blood flow AROUND the uterus, making it healthier. I love raks sharqi (bellydance) moves, and you can find classes and free how-to videos in the web. Sitz (hip) baths increase blood flow as well.
Book recommendation: Herbal Healing for Women by Rosemary Gladstar.

Conflicting Ideologies on our moon times
I agree. We live in a patriarchal society that is too scared to acknowledge a woman's sensuality and sexuality and uses these supposed ideologies of society to keep us down. I think part of it is down to ignorance though. If we want change, we need to be the change and it all starts with information. We need to inform young men and women more about our differences and how each can be celebrated. A woman's cycle, for instance, is a beautiful natural phenomena that happens (usually) each month. Yet if you were to bring up the subject with Joe Bloggs at your local bar how would he react? Now, if he were more informed of the beauty of it then how would he react? I'm sure it would be a whole lot different!
Like Mary has said though, the concept of yin and yang is perfect. We need to recognise our differences, accept that we are not the SAME but we are EQUAL and the world wouldn't be complete if either one didn't exist.

Conflicting Ideologies on our moon times
Mary, what a great question! I agree that those conflicting ideologies are still affecting how we feel about ourselves. For example, we often try to fit into the society of model at the expense of being who we really are! I think the Chinese yin and yang theory offers an elegant explanation. Yin and yang are opposite and interdependent. They are equally powerful, and can't exist without the other...

it is a very sad thing that young women have a difficult time in school with menstruation. The question is how many days do you bleed? How many pads do you go through in a day? School classes last what 50 to 90 minutes? Obviously you may be experiencing heavier than 'normal' bleeding.
Vitamin C with bioflavnoids helps to stem heavy menstrual bleeding. You have to look for this in a health food store. Most Vitamin C just has ascorbic acid. It is the bioflavnoids that help repair the capillaries (small blood vessels) in the uterus that are hemorrhaging (heavy bleeding) due to not being strong enough.
I have heard from many women that they see a big difference in a week.
Another helpful tactic is to start living with the natural ebb and flow of your menstrual cycle. Try to curb back on your activities and take care of your own needs more during the week before your period. For more information: http://holyhormones.com/female-mystique/
BTW - most women experience a heavier than normal period every three or four cycles. If anyone else has a problem with heavy bleeding try the Vitamin C combo with ascorbic acid and bioflavnoids.
If this does not help you may want to check with your doctor.
