|Simple Soup to Replenish Estrogen Naturally|
|By Jing J.|
In my previous post “Estrogen Rich Foods to Prevent Early Menopause,” I mentioned that certain foods are rich in “phytoestrogens,” plant-based estrogen. They are an excellent natural hormone replacement that easily converts into estrogen in our body.
As it turns out, many of these estrogen rich foods are excellent ingredients for yummy and homey soups. In fact I’ve been making them without even recognizing their added benefits.
Last Christmas, my boyfriend’s mom gave me a crockpot. Since then I’ve been hooked. It’s now on my list as one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century.
Just put your soup ingredients in the pot before you go to work in the morning, and when you come home at night, dinner is ready. How easy is that? You can enjoy a different, restaurant quality soup every night, which nourishes and delights with a minimum amount of effort. Sounds like a plan to me.
My boyfriend actually calls me the “Soup Queen” now. I guess I am, and I don’t mind the high title one bit.
Here’s a soup I made yesterday with a lot of the estrogen rich foods mentioned in my precious post.
I chopped off three carrot sticks, three celery sticks, and three slices of Portobello mushrooms. Isn’t there a saying about the power of three? Well it stuck in my mind for some reason. Anyhow, I also chopped off half of a bell pepper.
Kale is one of my favorite greens. It has many great health benefits and is considered the king of veggies. It’s one of those veggies that make me feel good, and guilt free. So I added a handful of kale.
And of course, we need some super estrogen rich foods. I mixed some soybeans, barley, kidney beans, black beans, northern beans, lima beans, and garbanzo beans. They reminded me of the earth and its bounty. I felt grounded already.
I also added some spices such as Thyme, Turmeric, and Oregano. Not only do they spice up the soup, but they themselves also facilitate the estrogen production in our body.
I put all of the ingredients into my beloved crockpot. The one I have is the perfect size for two people. I plugged it in and went to work.
In the evening when I came home from work and a belly-dancing lesson, dinner was already made, waiting for me.
Mmm… It was so delicious and nourishing, just as good as mom’s cooking. The picture didn’t turn out very well because it was taken at night, but you’ll see the beauty in your own creation, and enjoy the fruits and benefits of your small labor.
Sometimes the solution we are looking for can be simple and within reach. We may not need estrogen replacement after all. With nature’s bounty and blessings, we may be able to find natural and inexpensive ways to provide just what our body needs.
