|Three Best Gifts A Man Can Give to A Women|
|By Jing J.|
Thanksgiving is here – great food, family bonding, and lots of laughter. Unlike Christmas, Thanksgiving is not about exchanging tangible gifts, but rather the intangible ones – appreciation, gratitude and love.
Given the traditions of Thanksgiving and the time spent with family and loved ones on this day, some of whom we see so infrequently, I can’t help but think about, in our relationships, especially the long-term ones, how often we take each other for granted. Why do we wait until Thanksgiving to express thanks for the gifts of life and love? Why not express them more often, voice our appreciation more? And if we did, how would this change the quality of our relationships?
Even though this applies to both men and women, I think men need to be more aware of it, since nowadays women are working and taking on more of the domestic chores, which are the most easily taken for granted. And during PMS, women are most sensitive to this - and most in need of the gift of appreciation. So, writing from my personal experience and observation, here are the three best gifts a man can give to a woman.
Attention: We can get into our routines and life can become mundane. This calls for extra efforts to pay attention to details – things that can make or break our day, and our relationship. Remember the time when you noticed every little change in her – her hair, her expressions and her moods? Notice what she’d done in the house, and for you? Without attention, how can we express that appreciation, and love?
Appreciation: Appreciation: Meister Eckhart said it well, “If the only prayer you said in your whole life was ‘Thank You,’ that would suffice.” Appreciation doesn’t necessarily mean roses, wines or extravagant dinners. Though those are certainly nice, and greatly appreciated, a simple acknowledgement and “thank you” is usually sufficient when delivered sincerely. Of course, there are millions of fun ways you can show her how much you think of her and appreciate her, so let your imagination flow.
Affection: As we grow up, people don’t get affection nearly as often as when we were children – but we still need it. Our skin is hungry and thirsty to be touched. So try to hug her as often as you can, and of course, especially when she is PMSing. Pat her hair, rub her feet and cuddle her. You’ll be rewarded. Don’t you worry, there is only upside here.
Well, these are my three A's - Attention, Appreciation and Affection - for a better relationship, and to help your girl during PMS. Have I missed anything? Please leave a comment and share your thoughts.
I think it's a good idea to share this post with the men in our lives, don't you think?
